We develop carbon and biodiversity projects in African rangelands. Our team provides expertise along the entire value chain of project development, from rewilding and carbon science, to project management, business development, financial modelling, carbon credit market analyses and brokering.

The Rewild vision is to foster a future where where both people and ecosystems thrive on African rangelands in African rangelands.
Our approach is to enable the rewilding of African rangelands through carbon and nature credit financing for triple bottom-line impacts: people, planet, and profit.

Using the latest scientific and technological advancements, our aim is to lower the costs of entry to carbon and biodiversity projects to create vast interconnected wildlife ‘working lands’ across the continent.
The majority of carbon credit projects currently being developed in Africa focus on preserving forest landscapes (such as REDD+). This misses the opportunity to promote soil carbon sequestration in ‘working’ landscapes where communities are able undertake additional economic activities simultaneously.
Rewilded land has the potential to develop new, sustainable economic activities, such as ecotourism, hunting, wildlife products, and game meat production - however, the initial barrier of ‘missing markets’ is significant and carbon finance can play a vital role in bridging the viability gap. Using carbon markets to promote inclusive economic systems that deliver broad-scale sustainable development based on rewilded rangelands is a key opportunity for Africa.

Matt is a conservation scientist with 15 years of experience shaping conservation policy and implementation at the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). An expert in the biodiversity economy and rewilding, he specializes in designing nature-based carbon projects that deliver measurable benefits for biodiversity, communities, and climate. Matt leads Rewild Capital's product development and ensures the scientific integrity of every project we undertake.

A fully qualified actuary with over 20 years of scientific and project management experience, Tyron brings analytical rigor to conservation finance. His background includes senior actuarial roles at Deloitte and Discovery, where he led financial feasibility studies using advanced statistical and mathematical modeling. At Rewild Capital, Ty combines his expertise in risk analysis and systems thinking to drive business development, innovation, and the commercial viability of nature-based carbon projects.

Claire is a data scientist with 15 years of experience in product development, analytics, and sustainability solutions. She has led high-impact climate initiatives including the South African Risk and Vulnerability Atlas and the National Climate Change Information System, applying machine learning to solve complex environmental challenges. Claire designs our information systems and workflows, transforming field data into actionable insights that power transparent, scalable carbon projects.

Farai brings hands-on field experience in soil carbon projects and Verra methodology development, with expertise in AFOLU carbon accounting and analytics. He has designed critical workflows for measuring, reporting, and verifying carbon sequestration in agricultural and forestry landscapes. Farai leads Rewild Capital's soil sampling strategies and carbon accounting frameworks, ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of accuracy and credibility in the voluntary carbon market.

Zander is a leading spatial ecologist and GIS expert who has developed remotely sensed platforms for rangeland monitoring, conservation planning, and restoration initiatives across Africa. His work focuses on analysing complex agricultural and ecological systems to identify efficient, sustainable solutions through transdisciplinary research and real-world application. Zander leads the development of our remote sensing tools, ensuring data-driven precision in every carbon project we design.
